Position Title: 

Human Resources Manager – ELWA Hospital

Description:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for coordinating all administrative activities related to the ELWA Hospital’s personnel. The duties include developing recruitment strategies, performance reviews, wage reviews, disciplinary action, and learning and development as well as implementing systems for managing staff benefits, payroll, and behaviour and on boarding new employees.
 
The Human Resources Manager will set the tone for the entire human resources department. From employee relations to payroll to compliance issues, the HR department will help ensure that the ELWA hospital runs smoothly, and the Human Resources Manager is at the helm.

Skills/Passions/Gifts:

Education:
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; master’s degree is an added advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of human resource systems in the health sector, based on previous experience working in the private sector, or in a non-governmental organization
Experience:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience in audit, finance, accounting, administration, project Management, or related area is required. Experience in supervisory functions is desirable. Experience in public sector budget, accounting & auditing is required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft office suite
  • Experience with the human resource information system (HRIS)
  • Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations
  • Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork
  • Experience with analysing data to guide strategic employment planning
